3D in Life by Philip Gioca
Part 3: DETERMINATION
I was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 27, by accident.
Now at early 40’s, it’s hard to believe that I went through school with an above average grades, read a thousand books and counting, got employed and now holding an executive post to have dyslexia. No wonder I can’t spell very well. No wonder, I can’t stay focused reading a single sentence and stutter when I am asked to read aloud. No wonder I have difficulty in reading comprehension.
I am dyslexic. (No wonder why my editor presented this article the way it is)
When I can’t spell well, I kept mental imagines of the words so that I can spell well. Nowadays thank life for spell checks. When I can’t stay focused on a single sentence, I read paragraphs and short stories. When I had difficult in reading comprehension, I read the article in advance, read it several times to a point of memorizing the entire article. My memory served me well that I can even picture how the page looks like. In my mind’s eye, I can even locate where a certain word is placed.
I was determined to learn, to give my best in anything I ought to do. I aspire for perfection, despite my imperfection.
I DREAM, I DO and I am DETERMINED. Thus far, Life has been very good, no regrets. Thank Life!
